(a1r xylographic title, a1v prologue, a2v full-page woodcut, a3r text, KK5v colophon, KK6 blank, *1.2 map of Europe, 2 a1 title to register, 2 a2 register, 2 b6 blank). 329 (of 332) leaves, (without *1.2 map of Europe and without blank KK6, the register bound in at beginning). 51-52 lines and headline, double column. Type: 4:150G (headlines and headings), 9:87G (text), woodcut black lombard capitals, one Maiblumen capital, profusely illustrated with one full-page woodcut, a half-page world-map, woodcut city views, portraits, and scenes, 2 xylographic title-pages. (Some light browning and staining, a few marginal tears or minor chipping.) Near contemporary blind rolled German calf over wooden boards, remnants of brass clasps (rebacked). Provenance : Mr. Haag, Oberwesel (1908 gift inscription to); Schönburg Castle; T.J. Oakley Rhinelander (bookplate). This is the second of Schönsperger's German editions of the Nuremberg Chronicle, which he pirated first in 1496 and in Latin in 1497.
