Harper Date: 1898 Description: Two volumes. Edited by Elliott Coues. With 18 plates from photographs, maps, etc. (8vo) blue cloth, spines lettered in gilt. No. 410 of 950 copies. First Edition. Larpenteur joined William Sublette and Robert Campbell on an expedition from St. Louis to the Rockies in 1833, then joined the rival American Fur Company the following winter. His journals and memoirs give great insight into the fur trading of those heady years. Graff 2404; Howes C800. Lot Amendments Condition: Light wear to bindings; bookplates on front pastedowns, slight darkening of pages but most illustrations are bright; near fine. Item number: 264602
