Small 4to, half crushed red morocco, frontispiece lacking, supplied in facsimile, without the final blank, occasional light dampstaining, the map with a few small stains, affecting 11 letters of the engraved text and engraver's signature, 3 headlines shaved (fols. F2, K1 & K4) . Second edition of the earliest detailed account of Drake's voyage of circumnavigation, engraved folding map of the world by Robert Vaughan in the second state (Shirley 326), woodcut head-pieces and initials.
