Type of stocks: Not Listed. Shipped to: E. C. Meacham Arms Co., St. Louis, Missouri. Date of Shipment: February 1, 1893. Accompanied by a custom-made wood partitioned box with cartridge block, cartridges and combination two-headed screwdriver. Condition: This gun is in overall very good to fine condition showing the majority of its nickel finish with star stamped on right rear triggerguard bow. The markings are sharp, action is crisp at time of description and the bore is very good +. The period pearl grips are in overall very good to fine condition showing an beautiful iridescent quality. This Model 1877 was returned to the Colt Factory as evidenced by the star marking on the trigger bow. The barrel address is of the later type used on Police Positive DA revolvers and also has the later integral front sight. An additional letter accompanies this lot dated Dec. 18, 1985, and written by the late Dr. Richard C. Marohn suggesting too that the barrel is of later vintage, making it possible this Colt was re-worked at one time at the factory. Customized wood casing is made from a 1960s era Colt box for a Lord and Lady pair of .22 caliber derringers.
