The translation of Santes Pagnini, an Italian Catholic priest and prominent Christian Hebraist, was one of the most popular Latin Bible translations during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries and was often printed in so-called interlinear edtions. The first Latin edition appeared in Lyons in 1528; the first interlinear edition in Antwerp in 1572.
