AN UNUSUAL .41 RIMFIRE MOORE'S PATENT SINGLE-SHOT DERRINGER; AND A BELGIAN (LIÈGE) PERCUSSION BOX-LOCK BAR-HAMMER PROTOTYPE PISTOL The first, circa 1861; the second circa 1840 The first of no specific model configuration, unmarked, factory engraved with small panels of scrollwork, the butt entirely unworked (hammer spur chipped); the second with brass barrel moulded at the muzzle and fitted with folding fore-sight, brass central-striking box-lock action with cap-like hammer grooved for sighting (mainspring detached), the top-strap with brass button trigger, maple butt, and brass pommel with hinged domed trap-cover. 5 1/8 i n (13cm) and 8½ i n (21.6cm) (2)
