Bovet Very fine, rare and large gold and enamel openface manually wound quarter repeating hour striking centre seconds musical watch, made for the Chinese market, enamel in the manner of Lissignol SIGNED BOVET, FLEURIER, NO. 9821, CIRCA 1820 Finely chased and engraved floral and scroll decorated gilt-finished cylinder movement, quarter repeating on two hammers onto two gongs, musical pin barrel, music playing on the hour or at will, hinged glazed cuvette with engine-turned gold frame, white enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track, constant seconds, the case with translucent polychrome champleve enamel floral decorated bezels, rim, pendant and bow, reverse centred by a possibly later added or later enamelled painted polychrome enamel scene depicting "Affection and Innocence" after Francesco Bartolozzi in the manner of Lissignol, repeating through the pendant, en passant music start/stop lever and push button to activate the music at will underneath the bezel, case numbered, movement signed and numbered, with hand-engraved inscription JDL underneath the dial, reverse of the dial numbered 9821 Diameter : 64 mm.
