Compiled from different official explorations and our personal survey, 1882. Carl L. Hals and A. Rydstrom Civil Engineers." It measures 26.7x20.2 cm. Warren Heckrotte comments on his dating of the book: "The latest date mentioned in text is 1889; I date it at 1890 for that reason. Whittlesey, Yellowstone Place Names, gives 1890 as the first issue.
