Forging pattern ( jihada ): wood grain ( itame ). Tempering pattern ( hamon ): irregular clove-like patterns with undulations ( choji gonome midare ) in bright nioi and nie . Point ( boshi ): small with midare-komi . Tang ( nakago ). Shape ( keitai ): regular and unshortened ( ubu ); file marks ( yasurime ): slanted ( katte-sagari ); end ( nakagojiri ): rounded ( kurijiri ); holes ( mekugi-ana ): three; signature ( tachimei ): Bishu Osafune Tomomitsu , dated Joji 4 (1365), 1st month.
