Laid in first vol. is an autograph postcard signed (initials) from Whitman to Lushington in London, written from Camden, 31 August n.y. [presumably 1876]: "I to-day forward to you by mail...a set of my Books -- Two Vols. Please let me know...if they reach you safely. Another set, same Vols. will be sent you soon."
