Beschreibung:

.54 caliber smoothbore. 10" round barrel secured by a single spring-retained band. SN: NSN. Bright finish, iron furniture, walnut stock. Single shot, muzzleloading flintlock pistol. Lock in original flint and marked S. NORTH in an arc over a {Spread-Winged Eagle} with U S on either side and over MIDLTN CONN in an upward arc underneath. Lock dated 1821 vertically at the tail. Lock with sliding safety at rear. Breech marked JDJ for inspector John D Johnson over P over US. Counterpane with weak cartouche that appears to be the script ET of Elisha Tobey, who inspected 1,000 Simon North Model of 1819 pistols in 1821. Pistol retains its original button head swivel ramrod and original brass blade front sight. A nice, complete and correct example of a US Model 1819 pistol in original flint. Condition: Very good. Metal with a mottled and freckled salt and pepper patina, showing a dull pewter color with scattered oxidation and discoloration. Markings remain clear in the metal, weaker in the wood. Mechanically functional flint lock with functional safety. Bore fair to good, dark and dirty with moderate oxidation and some pitting which is mostly near the muzzle. Stock solid and free of breaks or repairs, showing moderate wear and with scattered bumps, dings and mars.
