The Schwerdt copy of The Sportsman's Magazine , a periodical that began as The Sporting World in March 1845, changing its name in May after 9 issues, and again in 1847 to Sporting Life . Regardless of its title, it covered a broad range of sports, including boxing, angling, riding, cricket, swimming, gymnastics, hunting, birding, etc. Schwerdt II, 222 ('Rare in this complete state').
