TERTULLIANUS, Quintus Septimius Florens. Opera...omnia edited by Jacobus Pamelius, Paris: M. Sonnius, 1584. 2° (347 x 215mm). Woodcut device on title, double-page and folding woodcut plate of the Circus Maximus (mostly lightly browned). Contemporary blindstamped pigskin over wooden boards with clasps (a little rubbed and soiled). Provenance : the Public Library at Halle, 1589 (stamped in black on upper cover); W.R. Wroth (ownership inscription on title and his widow's bookplate). CYRIL, Saint and Archbishop of Alexandria. Operum...tomi quatuor , [Basel: J. Hervagius], 1546. 4 volumes in one, 2° (373 x 235mm). Woodcut device on titles and on last page (overslip pasted over imprints by a zealous catholic). A good copy in contemporary blindstamped pigskin (lacks ties). Provenance : Sebastianus Camberius[?] (contemporary signature); Georgius Guntherius (near contemporary signature); the Benedictine Monastery at Bamberg (inscription on title); a duplicate of the Royal Library at Munich (inscription on an endpaper). The first complete edition of Cyril of Alexandria's Works. Adams C3168; and 7 others similar. (9)
