First edition published by the Jesuit Gaspar Schott 1608-1666, pupil of Athanasius Kircher who devoted much of his career to the spread of scientific knowledge. Guericke had communicated the results of his experiments to Schott in 1657, but did not publish his own account until 1672." 1658.
