The rare and early American golf guidebook, preceded by only the editions of 1893 (the first golf book printed in America entitled Spalding's Athletic Library), and the 1895 issue. It continued to be issued annually until the early 1930's. "The most successful of the 'annual' or yearbook type of publication in America and a real 'bible' of information for the golf historian" - Murdoch. With the ownership signature on the front cover "Chas. A. Plumley" (1875-1964), who was a Vermont lawyer, Norwich University President, and a U.S. representative. D&J S29680; D&M 4030; Murdoch 154. Lot Amendments Condition: Some rusting from staples, rear cover detached, small spots of soiling and some darkening; a few pages within creased at corner; else very good and difficult to obtain in full wrappers in better condition.
