Russian Avant-Garde.- Burliuk (David & Vladimir) Buka russkoi literatury [The Bogeyman of Russian Literature], one of 2,000 copies, lithographs by Klutsis and Kliun, age-toning to margins, original wrappers printed in red & black with design by Nagorskaia, slight loss to fore-edges, small stamps on lower cover, in modern cloth-backed sleeve, [MoMA 462/463], Moscow, 1923 § Apushkin (Yakov) Kamernii teatr [Chamber Theater], one of 5,000 copies, full-page photographic illustrations, ink name on title, original wrappers with design by G. & V. Stenberg, ink stamp and inscriptions on inside lower wrapper, [MoMA 718], Moscow-Leningrad, 1927 § [Peshkov (Aleksei Maksimovich)], "Maxim Gor'kii". Detstvo [Childhood], browning with some fraying, preliminary f. with device loose, some other separating, original printed wrappers, spine rubbed and slightly sunned, [Kilgour 48], Berlin, n.d. [?1913], first editions; and 19 others, similar (22) ⁂The first a rare collection of tributes by Sergei Tretyakov, David Burliuk, T. Tolstaya and S. Rafalovich to the enormously influential and protean experimental Russian poet and theorist Aleksei Kruchenykh. Burliuk eventually settled in the United States, but Tretyakov was arrested and executed by the Soviets in 1937.
