Printed caption at bottom: "President Roosevelt and Family" with names of each, copyright by Pach Bros., 1903 (imprint in lower left corner). A superb oversize photograph of the 44-year-old President Roosevelt and First Lady Edith Roosevelt, surrounded by their family, seated in the garden of the Roosevelt home, Sagamore Hill on Long Island. Roosevelt is wearing riding boots and holds a white Stetson hat on his lap. Alongside him are all eight members of the First Family: (from left to right): Quentin (aged 5), the President, Theodore Jr. (aged 15), Archibald (aged 9), Alice (aged 19), Kermit (aged 13), Edith (the First Lady), and Ethel (aged 11). Another example of this classic image of the President, signed by him and some family members, was part of the Shochet Collection (sale, Christie's, 20 May 1994, lot 88, $4,000).
