Lot of 7 cased images. A fine quarter plate tintype portrait of a young girl and boy, likely siblings. Seated in chairs, the young girl wears a lacy white coat over a ruffled plaid dress. [Felix] Moissenet & Law: New Orleans, LA. Housed in original pressed paper case with floral motif and "Moissenet & Law" hallmark on velvet pad. (Image in fine condition, some minor spotting to mat, minor scuffs to case extremities). Sixth plate daguerreotype portrait of a young woman wearing a black dress and a gilt necklace, her hands folded genteelly in her lap. F[elix] Moissenet: No. 1 Camp Street, New Orleans. Housed in original pressed paper case with "F. Moissenet" hallmark on velvet pad. (Some spotting to image, light tarnishing to edge, minor scuffing to case extremities). Sixth plate daguerreotype portrait of a young child seated in a chair, his cheeks lightly tinted pink. F[elix] Moissenet: No. 1 Camp Street, New Orleans. Housed in original pressed paper case with "F. Moissenet" hallmark on velvet pad. (Some tarnishing to image edges, repair to case hinge). Sixth plate daguerreotype portrait of a girl and boy. Each holds an object in their hands, the boy holding up a book. R.N. Kelly: 332 N. 2nd St., Philadelphia. Housed in pressed paper case with geometric and floral motifs, photographer's hallmark to brass mat. (Half case only, some scuffs to mat). Sixth plate daguerreotype portrait of toddler wearing a short sleeve dress and bloomers. She stands upon a velvet upholstered chair, tentatively identified as the armchair of renowned Daguerrian John Adam Whipple (1822-1891). (See Boston Athenæum, [Susy Wyman, age 1 year and 10 months, ca 1853], Prints and Photographs Dept. UTB-6 5.4 Wym.s.(no.1)). Possibly John Adams Whipple: Boston. Housed in pressed paper case with flourishes. (Some tarnishing to edge, half case only). A fine sixth plate daguerreotype portrait of three young children, likely siblings. The two boys wear matching coats with brass buttons and white collars, one holds a brush. The young girl has a short haircut and is wearing a dark jacket over a floral dress. She holds the portrait of a gentleman, perhaps their father, in her lap. Housed in a pressed paper case with a grape leaf motif. (Image very clear and fine, half case only). Sixth plate daguerreotype of two children. A young boy sits in a high chair wearing a black jacket with white lacy trip and a jaunty hat. A girl, probably his sister, stands at his side wearing a plaid dress and straw hat. Housed in pressed paper case with 10-point star. (Tarnishing to image edge, wear to case extremities).
