PUFENDORF, SAMUEL. De jure naturae et gentium, libri octo. Cum annotatis Joannis Nicolai Hertii JCti. Editio nova, à mendis infinitis, quibus priores editiones scatebant, diligenter repurgata. Amstelaedami (apud Davidem Mortier) 1715. 4:o (about 250x185 mm.). Engraved frontispiece portrait, title printed in red and black. Contemporary marbled boards, slightly worn, mended in the hinges, vellum rebacked, new red leather spine label with gilt title, entirely uncut, and partly unopened. Signature on title Alex. Brodin 1719. Löwendahl: China illustrata nova. Supplement, 1601. Originally published in 1672. Many references to China, mostly based on Martini or Neuhof, but also Pinto and Trigault. From the library of Swedish antiquarian bookdealer Björn Löwendahl (1941-2013).
