2 parts in one volume, 4to (217 x 155 mm). collation: [Maltese cross]4 [fleur de lys]4 A–N4 A–Z4 Aa–Ii4 Kk2: 194 irregularly foliated leaves. General title-page and section-title for De le stelle fisse with woodcut printer's device, both parts with woodcut diagrams in text and woodcut historiated initials, De le stelle fisse with 47 full-page star-charts, tables; some scattered soling, ink erosion at repair at lower margin of title-page from early inscription, final leaf rebacked. Near-contemporary vellum; recased.

Together, 3 works by Piccolomini, including the first edition of "the first printed star atlas, containing maps of the stars as opposed to simple pictures of constellations, and introducing the practice of identifying stars by letter, a method later adopted and expanded by Bayer" (Norman 1696, for fifth edition of 1559).
