La ville, qui connaissait alors une vague de reconstructions, devient le sujet de prédilection de Durand. Le chantier du nouveau pont du Change et la démolition de l’ancien, jugé peu commode pour la navigation fluviale, constituent de précieuses indications chronologiques pour dater ce daguerréotype. The city, which was then undergoing a wave of reconstruction, became Durand's favourite subject. The construction of the new Pont du Change and the demolition of the old one, which was considered inconvenient for river navigation, are precious chronological indications for dating this daguerreotype.
