Paxton (Joseph, editor). Paxton's Magazine of Botany, volumes 1-15 (of 16), 1st edition, London: Orr and Smith [-William S. Orr & Co.], 1834-49, approximately 697 engraved or lithographic plates, nearly all hand-coloured (one tinted only), many heightened in gum arabic, several folding, tissue-guards, a few plates closely trimmed with image or caption just shaved, volumes 1 and 5 with occasional marginal damp-staining, light offsetting to some folding plates, a few light spots to plates elsewhere, but internal condition generally bright, all edges gilt, contemporary green half calf by Joyce of Southampton, spines and extremities worn, labels perished or lifting, volumes 2, 5 and 10 spines defective, volume 5 front board detached, 8vo (23 x 15.2 cm) (Qty: 15) Nissen BBI 2351. Sold as a periodical, not subject to return.
