III - XV), 1834-1849. 14 volumes containing vol. I - XIV and half of vol. XV only (of 16), large 8° (227 x 161mm). Approx. 700 hand-coloured engraved or lithographed flower plates by F. W. Smith or S. Holden, some folding or double-page, with a few plates of designs for gardens, numerous wood-engraved illustrations, plate 3 in vol. 5 of Cattleya crispa replaced by a fine watercolour (some plates shaved with slight loss to image or captions as usual, some light spotting or browning). 20th century green leather, spines with raised bands in six compartments, lettering piece in second (spines and joints rubbed).
