Marked on the right side of the barrels with serial number an a star /LM. Blued finish with checkered wood grips. Cased in the only known real casing of a double-cased set. Casing of oak with green lining, French, form-fitted to the revolvers. On the inside of the lid is gold embossed markings: "LEJEUNE 48 PASSAGE CHOISEUL A PARIS'. Accessories are two ramrods made of light colored wood for the smoothbore. Nipple wrenches and screwdriver with light wood handles. Two brass molds. Compartment with conical lead balls, a light wood case for percussion caps. LITERATURE: Adams, Doug, The Confederate LeMat Revolver, Mowbray Publishers (2005). Clifford Young Collection Condition: Serial number 1078 with most of the bright original blue finish on the barrel just lightly fading with wear to the high edges. Loading lever with most of the blue finish just lightly flaking. Smoothbore barrel has some flaking. Frame is very sharp and crisp with traces of bright blue finish. Cylinder is very sharp and crisp with some traces of blue . Grips are excellent and void of any finish. Checkering is excellent. Serial number 1082 is excellent overall, retaining some original blue on the barrel. Loading lever retains some of the original blue with some flaking. Smoothbore barrel retains some of the original blue finish just lightly fading, Frame is very sharp and crisp with some traces of original blue finish. Cylinder has some of the original blue with some flaking. Grips are excellent void any finish. Case is excellent overall with all the accessories in excellent condition.
