I, and front ?blank in vol. II, all but one of the maps with tears, one of these with loss, four pairs of leaves adhering together, most partially freed with subsequent damage to text.) Modern half sheep. Sold not subject to return. This is the most important work of the German traveller and orientalist, Adam Olearius or Oelschlaeger, first published as Beschreibung der moscowitischen und persianischen Reyse , Schleswig, 1647, in folio. The first French edition, translated by Abraham de Wicquefort, was published in Paris, 1656. (2)
