Date: 1826 Description: Three parts in one volume. lxiv, 255, [1]; iv, 104; 112 pp. Folding frontispiece map; two inserted plates (one folding), a few other illustrations in text. (8vo) 22x13 cm (8½x5") period full calf, gilt lettered spine label. First American Edition. The accounts of Denham and Clapperton of their important explorations in Africa; by the time of this publication Clapperton had left on his second (and last) journey into the African interior, but he left his journal to be prepared for the press. Lot Amendments Condition: Rubbed, joints and hinges cracked; map splitting on fold, creased; foxing throughout; good. Item number: 253390
