NAPOLEON I (Emperor of France, 1805-1821). Document signed, (as First Consul, 'Bonaparte'), St. Cloud, 'le 14 vend. r e an 12' [24 September 1803] , giving instructions for General Songis to order the fifty officers of the Grenadiers battalion at Paris to go to St. Cloud for a lesson in rowing, and General Nullin will make him repeat what the First Consul had them do this morning, signed at foot, engraved pictorial vignette heading, one page, 4° (integral leaf cut away). Napoleon also gives orders for ten seamen of the Guard to attend the rowing practice.
