Marked on right sideplate, “COLT AUTOMATIC MACHINE GUN” “MODEL 1919 – CAL 30.” “BROWNING PAT, FEB 4, 1919.” “COLT’S PAT FIRE ARMS MFG CO.“ “HARTFORD. CONN. U.S.A.” above serial number with correct “C” prefix (for Commercial). Extremely rare original sight bracket on water jacket, with exceptionally rare AA front sight, spider rear sight, and top cover latch all in an original leather AA sight carrying case. Just amazing! Original cork, chain, filler and drain plugs all present. Correct rear sight graduated out to 2700 yards. Wood grips on gun appear to be replacements, but original are included in plastic bag which also contains 2 spare drain cork assemblies, extractor, metal lubricating oil can, and takedown wrench. Colt Commercial tripod also included as well as 2 original wooden ammo boxes, original metal water can, and a steam condensing hose. Also included is an original Browning cloth belt loading machine, Model of 1918 in its original wooden chest. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine lustrous blue arsenal refinish turning a pleasing brown patina with bronze trunnion and nose cap turned to dark patina. Some slight scratches and marks visible under the finish. Bluing is thinning to gray patina at the high edges and particularly at the tripod attachment points. Bolt and trigger with correct Colt sliding trigger safety also extremely fine looking with blue finish. Unvarnished wood grips on gun extremely fine to near excellent. Original grips in bag near excellent. Others spare parts extremely fine. Boxes extremely fine with original paint. Tripod also extremely fine to near excellent. Bore of gun is very fine with uniform roughness in the grooves. Bolt is near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a full-automatic only machine gun. An exceedingly fine specimen of its kind. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO & RELIC ELIGIBLE.
