McCord, Myron (1840-1908). American politician, businessman, and military officer. ALS, 2pp. 8.5 x 11 in., Phoenix, Arizona. July 9, 1901. Addressed to Mr. Heller?. He began his political career in Wisconsin and was elected to represent Wisconsin's ninth district in the House of Representatives in 1889. After going bankrupt, McCord moved to Arizona territory, where he was appointed by William McKinley to become the 13th governor of Arizona. He resigned after one year, and joined the United States Volunteers.
