Marked on the rear of lock Miles Philad. Brass mounted, walnut stock. Provenance: Ex John McMurray Collection Condition: The metal overall has sharp and crisp lines, with a very fine etched pitted surface. All markings are good. Stock is excellent with open grain and untouched patina. Brass has a light patina. This musket was made for the state of New Jersey Sea Fencible - a kind of Coast Guard. It is one of the truly great American flintlock musket rarities. And in the condition for the person who wants the best.
