MICHAEL FARADAY (1791-1867); SIR JOHN HERSCHEL (1792-1871); CAROLINE HERSCHEL (1750-1848); SIR WILLIAM CROOKES (1832-1919); SIR JOHN TENNIEL (1820-1914); CHARLES DICKENS (1812-1870) & OTHERS An autograph album, quarto, containing about 50 manuscipt letters another 50 clipped signatures, among which are a 2-page autograph letter, signed, by Michael Faraday, dated The Green, Hampton Court, 17th June 1864, to Professor Alexander Stewart Herschel, stating: "The photographic copy of the meteor of 1783 and the slides of Central points were laid before the Marquis last Monday and gratefully received. As for the Sandby engraving Mrs Anderson has looked everywhere for it but cannot find it." Other letters are by Charles Pritchard, David Wilkie William Gladstone, Joseph Chamberlain John Bright and John Buchan. The clipped signatures include those of John Herschel William Crookes John Tenniel Lord Palmerston and Charles Dickens
