Manufacturer: Owens-Clewell Description: Handsome Owens Incised Matt vase with iris decoration, electroplated and patinated by Clewell and signed by both companies. The copper cladding is done in two colors with the ground in a reddish tan while the flowers are in a deep brown. Marked “Owens 124” on the clay bottom which clearly shows through the copper cladding which is incised “Clewell” with a stylus. Height 13 1/2 inches. Excellent original condition. Since Owens closed in 1908, this is, by definition, a very early example.
