Place: San Francisco Publisher: Date: c.1880 Description: Original albumen photograph. 41x50.5 cm (16¼x19¾"), on period board mount. Afternoon boating on Stow Lake, four men each alone in their rowboats on this particular afternoon. There is no photographer's imprint, with the attribution made by the late Marilyn Blaisdell, from whose collection it comes. For a biography of Marilyn Janeck Blaisdell, click here. Lot Amendments Condition: Some fading to image, mild darkened streak down center from earlier wood-backed frame; 2" hairline crack in image and backing board at bottom edge; two small edge stains; very good.
