Staggering image taken in a southwestern Colorado canyon featuring a group of five figures posed alongside a train paused on its tracks. The railway, constructed on the steep, craggy face of a mountain, overlooks the Animas River, a part of the expansive Colorado River System. Jackson signed the photograph in the negative at lower right, "W.H. Jackson & Co. Phot. Denver" with title printed at left, "1038. Canon of the Rio Las Animas." Condition: Item not removed from frame for inspection.
