A truly versatile weapon, the AUG platform was designed in the 1960s and was first adopted by the Austrian Army in 1978. Since then many countries militaries have adopted the AUG platform and have created a plethora of variants in order to fit their specific needs. This AUG A3 M1 semi-automatic rifle was manufactured by Steyr Arms in the U.S.A. Right side of receiver bears markings stipulating the manufacturer, model, caliber, and serial number. Right side of buttstock is marked "STEYR ARMS, INC." above "AUG / SA". Features include an 16" interchangeable quick change barrel, adjustable short stroke gas piston, flash suppressor, 6 - 3/4" picatinny optic rail, 2 - 1/8" side mounted picatinny rail, synthetic mud colored stock, charging handle, and folding foregrip, as well as a convertible ambidextrous ejection port. This example is complete with 2 additional 30 round magazines. CONDITION: Excellent, showing little evidence of firing or use. Stock shows few and minor superficial marks from handling and storage. Mirror bore, showing little evidence of use and retaining well defined lands and grooves throughout. Bolt face is excellent. A fine semi-automatic example of an iconic and extremely successful Austrian bullpup rifle.
