(A) US COLT ARTILLERY MODEL SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER.

Colt Artillery Single Action Army revolver with an 1877 vintage frame. Typical of these artillery revolvers, they were rebuilt in the 1890s using original cavalry revolvers; serviceable parts were reassembled and barrels shortened to 5 - 1/2", and subsequently reissued to Army troops in the Philippines at the turn of the century. Other serial numbers on this gun include 92942 on trigger guard, 92306 on butt, and serial numbers on cylinder and barrel illegible. Frame is marked "US" on left side and is J.T.C. (John T. Cleveland, 1856-1877) inspector stamped above frame serial number. 5 - 1/2" round barrel chambered in .45 Long Colt with single line Colt Hartford, CT barrel address, early blade front sight, and frame notch rear. Donut ejector rod head. One piece plain walnut grips. CONDITION: Good as original finishes turned to an even brown patina with scattered handling marks and pitting throughout. Grips are good as heavily cleaned with moderate handling marks throughout. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand and is tight. Bore is frosted with moderate abrasion and visible rifling.
