ILLUSTRATIONS: 37 color wood engravings including 15 elaborately decorated initials in text by F.-L. Schmied (some minor foxing to a few pages). BINDING: Contemporary art deco binding of brown morocco stamp signed JEAN LAMBERT probably after a design by Schmied, covers decorated with horizontal lines of gilt fillets, and gilt dots, central rectangular panel made up of green vertical lines and brown horizontal morocco inlaid bands around wavy lines of red and green morocco inlays, silked linings and calf doublures, original wrappers bound in; smooth spine ruled and lettered in gilt, gilt edges (tiny chip to upper joint); board morocco tipped slipcase (slight cracking to edges). LIMITED EDITION number 77 of 100 copies from a total edition of 140, signed by F.L. Schmied on limitation page.
