Amsterdam: Jochanan Levi Rofe and his son Benjamin, [1797?]. 240 leaves. 32mo, 80 x 50 mm. (3 1/8 x 2 in.), late eighteenth century brown morocco, covers with a gilt border incorporating floral and foliate ornaments surrounding a central gilt urn ornament, on the upper cover above and below the central ornament is a gilt-lettered inscription (in Hebrew) which reads: "Mati bat kh'r Avraham Yukels(?)," and on the lower cover above the central ornament the inscription reads: "shenat tkn'z li-ferat katan," spine in 4 compartments, gilt-lettered in one, a repeated floral ornament in the rest, single decorated silver clasp, spine worn and chipped at ends, corners worn; hinges cracked, browning and staining throughout. Not in Zedner, Van Straalen, Roest or Vinograd.
