C. 26 December 1861. 1 page, folio (14 x 18½ in.) , PRINTED ON FINE PARCHMENT with elaborately engraved roman and calligraphic script at top, "The President of the United States of America," and with engraved motifs of an American eagle clutching lightning bolts and olive branch at top, and images of flags, cannon and muskets below; matted . Lincoln and Stanton appoint George O. Sokalsi a 2d. Lt. of the Second Cavalry Regiment.
