La Tâche--Vintage 1985
12 bottles per lot
LA TACHE AND RICHEBOURG FROM DOMAINE DE LA ROMANEE-CONTI La Tâche--Vintage 1985 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Percy Fox slip labels. One damaged capsule. Slightly bin-soiled labels. Levels: three 1cms, four 1.5cms and five 2.5cms below base of corks. In Domaine de la Romanée-Conti original wooden case Tasting Note: First tasted at the Domaine, October 1990: deep, rich, intense, yet showing some maturity; extraordinary aroma, back to its brilliant self after the preceding dreary vintages, spreading and fluttering its wings like a bird after the rain. The sweetness of ripe grapes and alcohol, assertive, great length, dry finish. Six years later, from an American cellar, showing well. Most recently: beautiful in all respects. At its most gloriously fragrant best. Last noted at the closing dinner of Stephen Kaplan's 1985 vintage event in Chicago, April 2000 ***** M.B. 12 bottles per lot
