Beschreibung:

Number of copies -1200 . Two additional title pages in Latin and Russian. In a semi-leather binding of the time. Gold-embossed bandage spine. Shabby binding, tears of the leather spine, owner’s stamped bookplate of doctor Grigorovich N. And. on the front flyleaf. The ‘Suvorin’ edition of 1906 is the second edition of the Korb’s translation into Russian and differs by a more accurate reproduction of the Latin original. Besides, the book is distinguished by a sound printing performance: printed on thick vellum paper, perfectly reproduces all the engravings of the original edition, including ‘the Emblem of the Russian Tsardom and its regions’ and the rarest picture of ‘Execution of the Streltsy in 1698.’ Bibliography: Mintslov. No. 333; Ulianinski. No. 4027; Fecula. No. 3526.
