Original illustrated wrappers (tears on spine/edges, edge wear, some soiling). Paris, Éditions D'Historie et D'Art, 1933. First edition. Signed, dated and dedicated by the photographer in ink on title page. “Enfants” is the first book of photographs published by Kertesz. The American photographer of Hungarian origin André Kertesz met with great success in Paris before the WW II. Recognized as a pioneer in small format photography he was among the first to use the newly introduced Leica camera. During that period, he spent time with artists such as Piet Mondrian Fernand Léger and Tristan Tzara His work was published in numerous magazines, including Vogue and Vu and would go on to influence the next generation of photographers, Man Ray, Brassaï, Moholy Nagy, Berenice Abbott and Cartier-Bresson. – Edges time-stained with some water staining on inside pages. Errata: Signed, dated 28.XI.1933 and dedicated to Edgar Seltzer by the photographer in ink on title page.
