Signed by Monroe during his first year as President, the partially printed document grants land to Private Christopher Thomas of Captain Hall's Company of Sight Dragoons. Private Thomas received from the president one hundred and sixty acres in north east Illinois for he and his heirs. Condition: Small tears at the margins of the paper with typical folds, some foxing and discoloration, there are two very small holes in the paper, the seal is intact but faded.
