The engraving has been attributed to the French printmaker Nicolas Beatrizet (1515-who, after working at Fontainebeau moved to Rome where he was trained by Giorgio Ghisi From to he produced reproductive engravings under direction of Michelangelo, succeeding Marcantonio.
