Contemporary panelled calf (spine repaired at head and foot, upper joint split). Provenance : Henry Benson (signatures, armorial bookplate); Rainold Knightley of Fawsley (armorial bookplate). -- Peter Simon PALLAS (1741-1811). Travels through the Southern Provinces of the Russian Empire. Translated from the German by F.W.Blagdon. London: A.Strahan for T.Longman and others, 1802-1803. 2 volumes, 4° (256 x 207mm). 55 plates and maps, 43 HAND-COLOURED, 25 folding, 29 illustrations, 23 hand-coloured.
