First edition, the Brinley copy This publication records the proceedings of a New Haven conference to settle a boundary dispute between New York and Massachusetts, in which Massachusetts claimed "the whole territory, within their North and South limits, from the Atlantic Ocean to the South Sea." Published for distribution to members of the legislature, the Massachusetts commissaries were Thomas Hutchinson, William Brattle, and Edward Sheaffe. Those from New York counted William Nicoll, Robert R. Livingston, and William Smith Both sides present their claims, particularly with respect to the Hudson River line.
