Honduras impressive comprehensive and highly specialized mint and used collection contained in five large Scott specialty binders and formed by a collector that had personal and business interests in the country, this collection is exceptionally well represented in all areas of Honduran philately especially in air mails which this country is so well known for, it even starts with a few pre-stamp covers of the early 19th century both inbound and outbound, the early imperforates are well represented with both legitimate and dubious overprints including blocks, followed by the Bank Note issues of 1878-89 mint and used and including plate proof pairs, the Seebeck issues have the the usual range of reprints, imperforates, essays, proofs including some die proofs, color proofs, etc., there are less of these than some of the other Latin American countries as Honduras cancelled its contract early, the early 20th century issues have hundreds of varieties of overprints, multiples, imperforate and perforation varieties and then collected up to the most recent issues lacking hardly any of being complete and including many multiples, the air posts are the truly significant and impressive portion of the collection taking up four of the five volumes of this collection and they range from early rarities right up to the most recent issues in 2012, there are eighteen first issue "Aero Correo" overprints and surcharges including varieties, most of which are signed by various experts, a few others with fake overprints are not counted, then there is a truly awe inspiring section of the 1929-32 overprinted and surcharged values as well as later with dozens of varieties as well as the basic values, including both Scott listed and many varieties listed in Sanabria, we note a very rare 10c on 20c Yellow brown with violet surcharge with "0" for "10" in the overprint (#C24a), as one gets into the 1940s-1960s there are many perforation varieties including blocks, se-tenant multiples and even complete sheets as the 1968 Olympics complete in imperforate sheets of 25 (#C429-35), the collection continues of this way up to the most modern, the air mail officials are similarly collected, plus there are officials and even some postal stationery, in the modern era there are F.D.C.s as well as a few commercial covers, condition overall is quite clean though in early issues a few faults will be found, o.g. or used, fine-very fine; this is one of the most interesting collections of this country that we have ever offered and anyone who takes the time to view it will find a very compelling collection for anyone interested in this interesting country.
