Significant gathering of voyages by the German naturalist who was on James Cook's second Pacific voyage, accompanied by his son Georg Forster. Oddly, or perhaps tellingly, in the discussion of Spanish voyages and explorations on the north-west coast of America San Francisco Bay is not mentioned, indicating perhaps the secretive nature of the Spanish..
