In this work, Beverland demonstrates with quotes from the Bible and ancient writers that the original sin was only caused by natural and sexual attraction between man and woman. The work was condamned and censured because of the obscenities contained and Beverland banished from Leiden University and Holland. He was exiled to England. Ref.
