Collation: A-B 8 a 10 b-x 8 y-z 6 (A1r blank, A1v chapter headings, B8v-a1 blank, a2r text, z6v blank). 198 leaves. 36 lines. Type: 2:112R, 112 a Greek. 2-6-line initial spaces. (Small wormholes in first few and final quires affecting a few letters, marginal tear in s1 repaired just touching 1 letter.) Modern red morocco, blindstamped with fillets and corner decoration, the same stamp in spine compartments, by C. Hanson at the National Library of Wales, t.e.g. Provenance : contemporary marginal annotations, including some in Greek (some washed); Porkington Library (booklabel). Fourth edition. Generously peppered with quotations from Greek and Roman authors, the Noctes Atticae preserved for succeeding centuries many classical works which have otherwise perished.
